Honeymoon & Proposal by Boat on the Amalfi Coast
A boat for just the two of you, a coast made for promises — and a skipper who knows how to keep a secret.
From the helm
Some days are meant to be remembered for the rest of your life. If yours is a honeymoon — or the day you're planning to ask the question — the Amalfi Coast is hard to beat, and the sea is its most private corner. No crowds, no timetable, nobody else on board: just the two of you, your skipper and a coastline that seems made for big moments.
Why a private boat suits a honeymoon
On land, the Amalfi Coast in summer is as busy as it is beautiful: buses, queues, crowded viewpoints. A private boat turns it back into your own coast. Every tour we run is for your party only — on a honeymoon, that means the two of you and your skipper — and there's no fixed route: the day can be about swimming in quiet coves, a long lunch ashore in Positano, or simply lying on deck with a glass of prosecco.
One honeymoon couple wrote in their Google review that their private day on the water was "the highlight of our 2 week trip". That's the day we want to build for every couple on board.
Three ways to spend the day
- The sunset cruise from Sorrento. Two unhurried hours in the golden light, a glass in hand — the most romantic thing we do. See the sunset tour.
- The Amalfi Coast. Positano from the sea, a swim beneath the cliffs, the fjord of Furore and Amalfi, with time ashore for lunch. See the Amalfi Coast tour.
- Capri. The Faraglioni, the sea grottoes and free time in the Piazzetta. See the Capri tour.
Staying in Positano? Your full day can start right from the Spiaggia Grande pier — see our boat tours from Positano.
Proposing on a boat: how it works
A proposal at sea is one of the most beautiful moments that can happen on board, and the setting we suggest is the sunset cruise: the light softens, the sea goes calm and your skipper finds a quiet spot to drift. Tell us your plan when you book — on WhatsApp or by email, where your partner won't see it — and we'll plan the moment with you: the timing, the spot, and a discreet skipper who knows exactly when to look the other way.
On request, we can also arrange a photographer who captures the moment in secret, so the surprise stays a surprise and you keep the memory forever. The sunset cruise sets off from Sorrento; if you're staying in Sant'Agnello, Piano di Sorrento, Massa Lubrense or on Capri, ask us about starting closer to you.
Tips to keep the surprise
- Book it as a sunset cruise. That's true, after all: tell your partner only that, and tell us the rest privately.
- Keep the ring safe. Carry it in a zipped pocket or a small box, and never hold it loose over the water: the sea doesn't give things back.
- Let your skipper choose the moment. They know when the boat is steady and the spot is quiet — a nod is enough.
- Dress for the deck. Flat shoes or bare feet, and a light layer for the ride back.
Planning your honeymoon on the coast
We're on the water from April to October, and every month has its own beauty. In high season it's best to book a few weeks ahead, so write to us as soon as you know your dates. To pack light, read what to bring on a boat tour; to choose your places, see Positano by boat, the fjord of Furore and the Emerald Grotto and Li Galli, the Sirens' islands. For more about the evening cruise, read our sunset boat tour guide.
