Boat hire with a skipper, not self-drive

We don't rent boats without a captain. Every boat comes with an English-speaking local skipper, so you need no licence and no experience: you choose where to swim and where to stop for lunch, and the skipper handles the boat, the route and the anchoring in the coves.

It is the easiest way to see Capri, Positano and the Amalfi Coast from the sea: no ferry queues, no fixed timetable, just your group on board.

What's included

  • Private boat for your group only, with an English-speaking local skipper
  • Fuel and VAT
  • Port taxes in Sorrento
  • Snorkelling gear
  • Welcome prosecco
  • Water, soft drinks and beer aboard
  • Towels
  • Flexible itinerary and swim stops

Not included

  • Lunch ashore
  • Capri port fee — €100 (if you land on Capri)
  • Blue Grotto entry ticket — €18
  • Emerald Grotto entry ticket — €10

You can skip the Capri landing fee: guests who book lunch at our partner sea-view restaurant in Capri come ashore with its private water-boat service — and pay no fee.

Planning summer 2027?

Summer 2027 dates are open, and many of our guests book months ahead. Send us your date and group size, and we'll reply with a quote for the whole boat. A deposit holds your date; the rest is paid on board. If the weather stops your tour, we offer you a new date or a refund.

"Absolutely unforgettable experience with Rafael! He gave us an amazing boat tour along the Amalfi Coast—breathtaking views, hidden gems, and a perfect mix of relaxation and fun. He was knowledgeable, kind, and made us feel so welcome. Truly a highlight of our trip to Italy. Highly recommend booking with him!"

"My husband and I took a private charter on our Honeymoon and it was the highlight of our 2 week trip!!! I was pleasantly surprised how communicative this company was and the day before our captain, Michele contacted us, ensuring we got out on the water early enough and picked us up! Throughout the tour he educated us on the history/structures on Capri, pointing out great picture spots AND took pictures/videos as well. He set up an incredible lunch for us at a restaurant that wasn’t packed on the water (incredible meal and view). When we ran late while purchasing an item on capri he didn’t make us feel rushed at all. The focus was on us the whole time and he made our trip absolutely amazing!!! At the end he gave us recommendations of restaurants/places nearby in Sorrento and Positano too. I couldn’t recommend this enough!! 10000/10 stars"

Frequently asked questions

Can we rent a boat without a skipper?

No. Every boat comes with a local skipper, so you don't need a licence or any boating experience: you swim and relax, and the skipper takes care of the boat and the route.

Which boat is right for our group?

Up to 6 guests: the Ranieri 24, fast and ideal for couples and families. Up to 8: the Gozzo 26. Up to 10 or 11: the Apreamare Gozzo 35 or the Gozzo 30, both with a cabin and a toilet on board.

Is the price per person?

No — every price is for the whole boat, for your group only. Fuel, VAT, the skipper and drinks on board are included; lunch ashore, the Capri port fee and grotto tickets are not.

Where do we board?

At Marina Piccola in Sorrento, or at the Spiaggia Grande pier in Positano. We confirm the exact meeting point and time when you book.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first: your skipper decides whether the sea is safe and may adjust the route. If the weather stops your tour, we offer you a new date or a refund of what you've paid.

Not sure which boat?

Tell us your date, your group size and where you're staying: we'll suggest the right boat and route.
